Class 14: Final Written Test & sign-up for final speaking test

Class 14: Final Written Test & sign-up for final speaking test

Hello everyone,

Today we took the Final written test. Hopefully, you all did very well!

After the break, we spoke about the final speaking test. There are not many questions because the discussions require quite deep thought. Be well prepared and remember to develop the topic and give lots of examples/details to explain your opinion. Also, ask plenty of follow up questions to show you have understood what the other members have said.

I will see you next week for the final class of our semester.

It has been a great semester. I hope the class has been worth it for you, too.

Good luck with all of your final tests!

Ian

Class 13: Unit 10; discussion about National Parks and preserving nature

Class 13: Unit 10; discussion about National Parks and preserving nature

Hello everyone,

Today was our last teaching class. Next week will be the final written exam. We will then talk about the Final speaking test and sign up for a time slot.

In class, we did a listening activity to activate and consolidate vocabulary related to describing nature and national parks (NPs). Then we watched an infomercial about Yosemite NP. After that we discussed NPs. We shared our thoughts and experiences of visiting NPs. Then, discussed what could be the benefits to society/nature and also some of the negative aspects of NPs to society/nature.

After the break, we read an article on curbing pollution and then talked about ways to help preserve nature. What can we do to make a difference?

The final written test is next class. Units 8 & 10. We will have a 15-minute self-study / Q&A before we start the exam. After the exam, we will talk about and sign-up for the final speaking test...

Final speaking test guidelines. Please read them before next class.

Have a great weekend~
